• Plan menus and evaluate nutrition plans

• Evaluate and consult with participants experiencing nutritional needs by telephone, virtual appointment, at the participant’s home, in the clinic, or by hospital visit
• Provide Certifying Authority coverage in the assigned clinic as needed

Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to provide professional and administrative support in the planning and conducting of public health nutrition services and programs. The Nutrition Education Coordinator is required by State WIC to ensure that a qualified, designated staff administers (plans, implements and evaluates) nutrition education. To assure that nutrition education is planned, scheduled and provided to address the nutritional needs of the program participants. This is accomplished by completing annual plans, ensuring agency and staff compliance, providing staff training and ensuring quality management for WIC nutritional services. The Public Health Dietitian implements procedures to ensure high risk participants receive education and counseling as needed and required by Texas WIC policy and procedures. A Public Health Dietitian will serve as a Preceptor for staff who are in training to become WIC Certification Specialists. The Dietitian also serves on the Quality Management team.

WIC Site Supervisor/Nutritionist Galveston County Health District – WIC Program Galveston County Health District is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable WIC Site Supervisor/Nutritionist to oversee clinic operations, supervise staff, and support families through the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program.

Responsibilities Include:
Supervising WIC clinic staff and daily operations Providing nutrition education and counseling Determining participant eligibility and issuing eWIC benefits Ensuring compliance with Texas WIC and GCHD policies Assisting with reporting, outreach, training, and quality assurance activities

Minimum Requirements:
